Copywriter I

Reporting to the Manager of Copy and working within the Creative Team, the Copywriter I helps to develop compelling copy solutions for a variety of marketing channels to drive awareness, traffic and foster engagement while strengthening the brand perception. In this collaborative role, the Copywriter works closely with brand marketing, creative and channel owners to execute relevant content that aligns with promotional, seasonal, categorical and brand-led initiatives.  

Hybrid schedule Tuesday-Thursday in office.

• Write and edit copy solutions for website landing pages, articles, CRM including email, push and SMS, social media, paid digital media, radio, video scripting, in-store signage, weekly and monthly advertising and print publications.  

• Stay informed on creative marketing trends and make recommendations for new content development relying on industry standards. 

• Produce risk and error-free copy solutions delivered on-time that position Sprouts as a trusted and inspirational authority in the natural and health foods retail space.  

• Working closely with the Manager of Copy, solutions will be consistent and unified with the brand voice, personality and tone across channels, adhering to Sprouts editorial guidelines and standards.  

• Help maintain the master editorial guide by frequently reviewing for accuracy and updating for evolving best practices and usage.  

• Provide support to internal stakeholder teams as necessary, including PR, internal communications and the Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation.  

• Attend channel planning meetings as needed under guidance of the Manager of Copy.  

• Proofread and edit marketing materials and assets as needed.  

• Other related duties as assigned.  

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, advertising, PR, journalism, or related field with a minimum of 1 years of experience in marketing, copywriting in either print or digital; or an acceptable combination of education and experience.  

• Agency experience is preferred—a background in retail or consumer packaged goods is a plus.   

• Demonstrated excellence in the art and science of copywriting, and the ability to make complex concepts simple and engaging.  

• Skilled at working cross-functionally in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.  

• Effective, customer-first mindset with an ability to think critically and out-of-the-box.  

• Incredible attention to detail with strong editing and proofreading skills. 

• A creative mindset for conceptual problem solving with words. 

• Experience working and collaborating closely with a creative design team.  

• Familiarity with project management tools like Asana or AI is a plus
