Responsibilities
- Provide active supervision at all times to ensure children’s safety and well-being
- Maintain proper staff-to-child ratios as required by Iowa HHS
- Ensure children are always within sight and sound supervision
- Conduct routine safety checks of indoor and outdoor environments
- Follow all emergency procedures (fire, tornado, lockdown, evacuation
- Foster a positive classroom environment through effective classroom management and behavior guidance strategies.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom that encourages exploration and independence.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old to apply
- Reliable and responsible
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Enjoys working with children of all ages
- Willing to learn and be part of a team
- Willing to obtain and maintain all trainings required by the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services
This may include (but is not limited to):
- Mandatory Reporter Training
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- Universal Precautions
- Child Development & Guidance Training
- Passport
- Essentials
- PBIS
- CACFP food program requirements
- 12 hours annual training at minimum
