Service Desk Technician
Location: Wausau, WI
Job Type: Full-Time, Onsite/Hybrid (based on client and deployment needs)
Sprinter IT LLC, is growing, and we are looking to add a Service Desk Technician to our Service Desk team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working directly with end users, and being hands-on with PC preparation and deployments.
As a Service Desk Technician, you will be the first point of contact for many client IT needs while also supporting our internal processes for staging, deploying, and maintaining client workstations both remotely and onsite.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as a frontline Service Desk resource handling technical support requests via phone, ticketing system, and remote tools
- Troubleshoot common issues related to Windows PCs, user accounts, Microsoft 365, printers, and basic networking
- Image, prep, and deploy PCs for new hires and hardware refreshes both remotely and in person
- Install and configure operating systems, applications, updates, and security tools
- Accurately document work performed and solutions provided in our PSA and documentation systems
- Escalate issues appropriately
- Follow established processes and contribute to continuous improvement of Service Desk workflows
- Provide professional, friendly, and clear communication with end users
What We’re Looking For
- 1–2 years of experience in an IT support, help desk, or technical support role (or equivalent education and hands-on experience)
- Basic understanding of Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365
- Comfort working with hardware including desktops, laptops, monitors, and peripherals
- Strong customer service mindset with clear communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to learn, follow processes, and grow within a team-based MSP environment
- Reliable transportation for occasional onsite work in the Wausau area
Nice to Have (Not Required)
- Experience working in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment
- Familiarity with ticketing systems, RMM tools, or documentation platforms
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts and security best practices
- IT certifications such as CompTIA A , Network , or Microsoft fundamentals
