The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations, including loading and unloading of inventory, managing budget controls, and ensuring adherence to health, safety, and food quality standards. This role involves direct leadership of warehouse personnel, development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives, and coordination with third-party suppliers to ensure efficient and effective warehouse supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety policies, procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). Ensure compliance with food quality and food safety standards, including Safe Quality Food (SQF) requirements.
- Warehouse Operations: Oversee the loading and unloading of inventory and products. Manage warehouse activities, establish and maintain budget control, and resolve stock issues.
- Team Development: Develop and improve team performance by setting clear goals and objectives. Train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate warehouse personnel, fostering a team atmosphere.
- Supplier Relations: Maintain strong relationships with third-party suppliers through regular meetings and address any issues promptly.
- Performance Monitoring: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as accuracy, performance, output, and efficiency. Provide feedback to relevant managers.
- Operational Efficiency: Ensure good housekeeping, accurate stock counts, and efficient movement of stock using pallet trucks or forklifts. Plan and execute logistics needs with trucking firms to minimize freight costs.
- Logistics Management: Negotiate trucking contracts, manage stock destruction and aged stock removal processes, and ensure timely pick-up and delivery of shipments.
- Problem Resolution: Review and resolve operational problems to minimize costs and prevent delays. Monitor damaged product orders and returned product status.
- Policy Development: Develop and implement policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent quality and operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in warehouse management or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of shipping processes, including demand planning, warehouse management, and logistics.
- Proficient in using computer systems and software related to shipping operations.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on process improvement.
- Forklift certification is preferred but not required.

Education/Experience
- Required Education: High School Diploma or equivalent work experience in warehousing/logistics.
- Experience: 5 years of experience in a fast-paced Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) environment.
- Leadership Experience: 2-5 years of leadership experience
- Financial Acumen: Understanding and experience with labor and staffing planning
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain material handling equipment and ensure warehouse personnel are certified on equipment.
