What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plate Maker position at Sprink LLC?
Description
Shift: Monday-Friday (9:00a-5:00p)
This position will produce flexographic printing plates and laser-engraved embossing plates to use in printing orders. Ensures all orders are complete by checking the plates for quality and proper number of plates are with the order.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Takes orders from the printers and puts them into the proper job jackets, with the appropriate labels attached, and gets those jobs to the proper area for processing.
- Cuts out plate for each order on an Esko Graphics XL22 cutting table.
- Moves material from exposure unit to laser to processor to cutting table as needed.
- Lifts 50 lbs. boxes of plate material, in two-person teams, up to two times per day
- Matches plates to the proper order and takes them to press.
- Assist in the Rotary Screen Dept., stripping and coating rotary screens
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent. May include specialized classes beyond high school.
- Has proficient understanding of principles in one or more functions.
- Basic Math and Computer skills, and the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, interpret and create simple correspondence and memos.
- Knowledge of mechanics and hazard communication standards and material safety data sheets.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions
- Manufacturing environment – exposure to some hazardous conditions but not limited to dust, dirt, high noise levels, chemicals, etc. Safety regulations in place following OSHA guidelines.
- Must be able to lift / push / pull up to 50 lbs unassisted, at times more.
- Must be able to stand for the majority of shift – 2 hour increments.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, grasp, climb and reach frequently.
