JOB TITLE: International Baccalaureate Program Coordinator - MYP
REPORTS TO: Principal
WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Exempt
PAY GRADE: AI2
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The International Baccalaureate Programme Coordinator will oversee the effective implementation of the MYP through pedagogical leadership in areas such as curriculum content, scope and sequence, assessment and evaluation. Additionally, the Coordinator is responsible for facilitating effective school partnerships, providing support to teachers and students and coordinating community service for students. Assist in the supervision of the IB instructional program to ensure compliance and fidelity of implementation.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree from and accredited college or university
- Complete Category I IB Training within six months of hire.
Preferred:
- Masters in Curriculum and Instruction or Administration
- Valid Texas Teacher certificate as required by the State Board of Education Certification
- Three years of classroom teaching experience
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- Knowledge and understanding of International Baccalaureate MYP including the subject groups and the reports required.
- Strong and extensive content knowledge of standards in various grade levels.
- Global planning skills, organized, self-starter, independent worker, capacity to develop and deliver PD and have strong leadership qualities.
- Instructional coaching experience: formal or informal.
MAJOR RESPONSIBLITIES AND DUTIES:
Instructional Program Leadership/Development
- Provide leadership through implementation and assessment of the IB Instructional Program to include curriculum review and development.
- Assist in the administration of meeting the requirements of the IB Program.
- Assist in the development of the master schedule and assignment of staff as it pertains to the IB program.
- Secure IB promotional materials
- Stay abreast of all MYP publications.
- Regularly attend all MYP PLCs.
- Organize regular meetings for discussion and planning, and to inform staff of IB updates and publications.
- Ensure students and parents are being informed of the IB Program
School Operations
- Assist in the implementing of local, state and federal requirements as they pertain to the IB program.
- Assist in the recruitment and hiring of teachers into the IB program.
Student Support Services
- Oversee the implementation of the global contexts across all courses and grade levels.
- Ensure students understand the importance of the global contexts and the direct connection to their learning.
- Develop international mindedness and awareness throughout the school.
Personal/Professional Employee Qualities
- Develop and implement in-house training for experienced and new staff to ensure understanding and consistency among all MYP courses.
- Maintain high visibility and accessibility on campus.
- Set high standards for self and staff.
Leadership
- Facilitate the IB Application process, the initial authorization visit, and subsequent programme evaluations.
- Develop data gathering techniques for the purpose of instructional improvements.
- Continually gather data essential in meeting IB requirements and accreditation.
- Work in collaboration with administration in completing task consistent with the goals and objectives of securing and maintaining an accredited IB program.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands: physical mobility, standing, prolonged sitting, some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling. This position will require traveling within the district.
Mental demands: ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations; ability to interpret a variety of data; ability to interpret TEC and policy; ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory, ability to be effective in both oral and written communication; ability to maintain emotional control under stress. Extended hours may be required for the position.
