Customer Service Clerk ll: Grade 9 - ($19.97 - $26.91 DOE) - Must be a high school graduate, with at least three (3) years of experience in an office or financial accounting field, with at least one (1) year being in Springville City's Treasury Dept. Prior course work in business math and data entry is necessary.

Description:
Under the direction of the City Treasurer, receives and records payments. Serves the public with connections and disconnections, payments owed the City, and other financial receipting and clerical duties.
Duties:
- Receives and properly records monies for payments, licenses, fees, services, and permits according to the City Cash Handling policy and procedures.
- Assists the public with connections and disconnections for all City services.
- Communicates with the proper department for connections and disconnections.
- Assists public in finding answers to a variety of questions.
- Performs clerical duties, as assigned.
- Checks out and balances all daily money bags received from the Golf Course, Swimming Pool, Library, and all other City Services and programs.
- Receives and properly records payments for building permits and impact fees.
- Maintains Landlord agreements, as directed.
- Research customer accounts as needed to answer customer questions.
- Collection of delinquent and terminated accounts.
- Responsible for daily Treasury duties when the City Treasurer is absent.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Must be able to operate a computer and 10-key calculator.
- Must be able to maintain a cash drawer.
- Must type at least 40 wpm and have a knowledge of accounting, bookkeeping, and filing systems.
- Must be able to calculate interest.
- Must have or be able to quickly gain skill in receipting software and be able to use the software to research customer information.
- Must have courteous telephone manners and be able to work well with the public. Must have the ability to work in confrontational situations.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit for extended periods of time. This job requires a significant amount of time viewing a computer screen and using a keyboard for data entry. The employee is frequently required to stand at a counter in order to help customers.
