What are the responsibilities and job description for the Caregiver/ Medication Technician 2nd shift position at Springvale Assisted Living in Swartz Creek?
Springvale Assisted Living & Memory Care is seeking full-time and part-time Medications technicians on all shifts. Our caregivers provide care, comfort, safety, and general supervision to our residents in both Assisted Living and Memory Care. They will partner with residents in activities of daily living, administer medications and tend to their individual physical, social and spiritual care needs.
Care Specialist Responsibilities: Provides direct care and assistance to the Residents and acknowledge the individuals' strengths and needs, including but not limited to:
- Independence and dignity
- Providing ADL care
- Respect
- Physical comfort
- Emotional security
- Stimulating activity and meaningful relationships
- Spiritual well-being (mind, body, and spirit)
- Friendship
- Room tidies throughout the day and completing shift change tidies
- Laundry
- Dispensing medications and assisting the residents to consume medications
- Assuring that the available medications coincide with what the provider has prescribed
- Never allowing resident to run out of medication
- Reordering medications
Requirements:
- Being a team player
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
- Mandates are required if you are scheduled as a mandate for that shift
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Dementia training provided
- Medication safety training provided- MUST pass medication safety training to be placed on cart
- STEP program training provided
