Quality Assurance Associate- 3rd Shift

SpringSeal, Inc. is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Associate to join our team. This is a Third Shift Position which is from 10pm to 6:30am. This person will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet the required legal and company standards for safety and quality. This person will be required to maintain calibrated test equipment, prepare to test data, create and maintain documents and worksheets within the Quality Management System and identify areas for quality control improvement.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform inspections of materials, identify non-conforming products and initiate reports according to procedures.
• Disposition of non-conforming materials
• Assist in creating/maintaining work instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Assist in creating/maintaining excel tracking sheets and using to collect/analyze data for reporting to management.
• Conduct process audits verifying machine parameters, materials and operator performance according to work instructions.
• Inspect dimensions of calipers, micrometers, durometers and other guages or other measuring devices to determine the accuracy of the machine operation.
• Inspection and verification of product between stages of production.
• Check labels and ensure that information is correct on the boxes of incoming materials coming into the plant as well as boxes before shipping products.
• Visually inspect work areas for compliance
• Inspect received material for a variety of qualities such as acceptable appearance, dimension and performance.
• Keep the work area clean from unnecessary clutter.
• Make suggestions and implement changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase safety and efficiency of the employees.
• Assist Engineering and Production personnel with any quality related issues.
• Other duties as assigned by supervision

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Associates Degree in science/engineering with 2 years of Quality experience (preferred) or High School Diploma /equivalent and 5 years of Quality Experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively and perform basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and unit conversions)
• Intermediate to Advanced understanding of MS Suite (especially as it pertains to Excell and Word).
• Must be able to work in a team environment.
• Familiarity with basic inspection equipment (calipers, micrometers, durometers)
• Any experience with Vision Measuring Systems is a plus.
• Must be detail oriented and have trouble shooting skills.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand basic tolerances.
• Availability to work overtime-as needed
• Must have a high level of personal integrity
• Must have a strong work ethic and be able to perform job duties under pressure while meeting deadlines.

Physical Requirements:

The majority of the work is done in a busy industrial plant environment. This is an overnight position from 10pm to 6:30am. While performing the job duties the Quality Technician must have the ability to continuously stand or walk for the entire shift. Normal duties are generally split between and office environment and shop floor. The person must have the ability to push, pull, lift or carry up to 25 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
