Job Title: School IT and Safety Specialist
Pay Rate: $25.00 per hour
Location: Springs Empower Academy
Position Type: Full-Time / Non-Exempt
Reports To: Principal/Executive Director
Position Summary
The School IT and Safety Specialist is responsible for providing technical support for school technology systems and assisting with the implementation and maintenance of campus safety procedures and equipment. This position ensures that technology resources operate efficiently and that safety protocols are supported in accordance with district policies and state requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Information Technology Support
Provide technical assistance to faculty, staff, and students regarding hardware, software, and network issues.
Install, configure, and maintain computers, tablets, printers, projectors, and other instructional technology.
Support user account management, password resets, and basic system administration tasks.
Assist with the setup and maintenance of classroom and office technology.
Document and track service requests, resolutions, and equipment inventory.
Coordinate with district IT personnel and external vendors as needed.
Safety and Security Support
Assist with the operation and maintenance of safety and security systems, including cameras, access control systems, radios, and alarms.
Support emergency preparedness activities, including drills, equipment checks, and compliance documentation.
Monitor and report safety concerns or maintenance needs throughout the campus.
Provide support during student arrival, dismissal, and school events as assigned.
Assist in ensuring adherence to district safety policies and state regulations.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or relevant technical certifications preferred.
Prior experience in IT support, educational technology, or a related field.
Working knowledge of computer hardware, software troubleshooting, and basic networking principles.
Ability to learn and apply school safety procedures and equipment operations.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
Ability to pass all required background checks and screenings.
