Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our team. This role is critical to ensuring smooth material flow throughout our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in material handling, inventory control, and safe operation of forklifts and other material-moving equipment. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and assist delivery drivers; verify incoming shipments against packing slips and purchase orders.
• Accurately identify, label, and stage materials for production; transport them safely to designated areas using forklifts, cranes, and hoists; pick and prepare materials for jobs ensuring proper documentation and traceability; and conduct recurring physical inventories to maintain accuracy.
• Perform receiving inspections and maintain segregation and surface quality standards.
• Load and secure materials onto trucks or containers; package and label shipments according to specifications.
• Dispose of scrap, metal burr, coolant, and other materials to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Communicate effectively with production and supply chain teams to coordinate material movement.
• Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing activities.
• Maintain flexibility to meet production demands and assist other departments as needed.

• Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience in material handling or warehouse operations preferred.
• Skills:
  • Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and documentation.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs. regularly; work in a manufacturing environment.
