Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and preventive maintenance of all hotel
facilities, equipment, and systems. This role ensures guest rooms and common areas are safe, functional, and
meet brand property condition standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Complete all maintenance work orders submitted by front desk and housekeeping in a timely manner
Perform preventive maintenance on guest rooms, HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, and pool
Respond to emergency maintenance calls as scheduled — includes after-hours on-call rotation
Maintain property exterior: grounds, parking lot, signage, and exterior lighting
Conduct weekly property safety walk-through; document and report findings to GM
Maintain maintenance log, work order system, and parts/supplies inventory within budget
Ensure compliance with OSHA, ADA, fire code, and brand engineering/property condition standards
Supervise vendor work on-site
Maintain pool chemical levels and required documentation if applicable (CPO required)
Prepare property for brand QA inspection — address all property condition deficiencies proactively
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum 1 year maintenance, engineering, or facilities experience — hotel experience preferred
Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general repair
CPO (Certified Pool Operator) required if property has pool or spa
Ability to be on-call for emergency repairs per posted rotation schedule
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, climb, bend, and lift up to 75 lbs; work in confined spaces; work outdoors in all weather
conditions.
