Responsibilities
- Assist the General Manager in overseeing all store operations, including sales, inventory management, and customer service standards
- Lead and supervise team members to ensure high levels of employee orientation, training & development, and performance management
- Manage employee scheduling, payroll processing, and payroll accuracy to maintain optimal staffing levels
- Conduct interviewing sessions to recruit top talent and support onboarding processes for new hires
- Oversee merchandising, pricing strategies, and promotional activities to maximize sales opportunities
- Maintain inventory control through stock monitoring, stocking procedures, and POS (Point of Sale) system management
- Ensure exceptional customer service by addressing escalated issues promptly and maintaining excellent phone etiquette
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Assistant Manager or in a supervisory role within retail or grocery stores
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams effectively
- Excellent communication skills in multiple languages; bilingual abilities are highly valued
- Demonstrated expertise in retail math, sales management, budgeting, and cash handling procedures
- Proficiency with POS systems, inventory management software, and basic bookkeeping practices
- Experience with purchasing, marketing initiatives, and store merchandising strategies
- Skilled in negotiation, employee orientation, interviewing techniques, and supervising diverse teams
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently across multiple tasks such as cashiering, stock control, and shift management
