Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of residential and commercial spaces, including dusting, surface cleaning, floor care, carpet cleaning, and outdoor work as needed.
- Implement proper cleaning and sanitation procedures to ensure health standards are met or exceeded.
- Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor buffers, carpet extractors, and other janitorial tools safely and effectively.
- Manage laundry duties including washing, drying, folding, and organizing linens and clothing items.
- Handle manual lifting of heavy furniture or equipment with proper technique to prevent injury.
- Maintain cleanliness of all surfaces by applying appropriate cleaning detergents and disinfectants.
- Communicate professionally with clients to understand specific cleaning needs and provide excellent customer service.
- Manage time efficiently to complete assigned tasks within scheduled shifts while maintaining quality standards.
- Follow all safety protocols related to custodial work, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Support housekeeping management by reporting supply needs or maintenance issues promptly.
Skills
- Proven experience in residential or commercial cleaning, custodial work, or janitorial services.
- Strong knowledge of cleaning procedures, sanitation standards, floor care techniques, and equipment operation.
- Ability to perform outdoor work when required with resilience and attention to safety.
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively throughout your shift.
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting, manual handling, and prolonged periods of standing or walking.
- Customer service orientation with strong communication skills for client interaction.
- Familiarity with various cleaning products including detergents and disinfectants; knowledge of safe chemical handling practices is a plus.
- Experience with specialized cleaning tasks such as carpet extraction or upholstery cleaning is advantageous.
