Laundry Attendant
Location: SpringHill Suites by Marriott

Reports To: Executive Housekeeper / Housekeeping Supervisor
Position Summary
The Laundry Attendant is responsible for maintaining a continuous supply of clean linens, towels, and hotel laundry to support daily hotel operations. This position ensures all linen and terry products meet brand cleanliness standards and are processed efficiently to support housekeeping and guest service operations. The Laundry Attendant plays a critical role in maintaining the overall cleanliness, presentation, and operational flow of the hotel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Laundry Operations
Operate commercial washers, dryers, and folding equipment safely and efficiently.
Sort linens, towels, bedding, and other laundry items according to color, fabric type, and soil level.
Wash, dry, and fold linens according to hotel standards and manufacturer guidelines.
Maintain a steady flow of laundry to ensure housekeeping has sufficient linen throughout the day.
Inspect all linen and terry items for stains, tears, or damage before returning them to circulation.
Remove and properly discard unusable or damaged linens following hotel procedures.
Inventory and Linen Control
Maintain organized linen shelves and ensure proper par levels are maintained.
Assist with linen counts and inventory tracking as directed by management.
Report low inventory levels or shortages of linen and terry items to the Executive Housekeeper.
Ensure discarded linen is properly counted and documented according to department procedures.
Laundry Room Maintenance
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry room at all times.
Sweep and mop floors daily and ensure work surfaces remain clean and free of debris.
Remove trash and replace liners in laundry room trash containers at the end of each shift.
Keep folding tables clear and organized unless otherwise directed by a supervisor.
Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues immediately.
Support to Housekeeping Department
Communicate with housekeeping staff to ensure linen needs are met throughout the shift.
Deliver clean linens to storage areas or designated linen closets when needed.
Assist housekeepers or housemen with linen distribution during high occupancy periods.
Maintain a professional and cooperative working relationship with all hotel team members.
Qualifications
Previous hotel or commercial laundry experience preferred but not required.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
Ability to lift up to 40–50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
Ability to follow hotel cleanliness and safety standards.
Work Environment
Work is performed in a laundry room environment with exposure to heat, humidity, and cleaning chemicals.
Requires standing, bending, lifting, and repetitive motion throughout the shift.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
Frequent standing, bending, twisting, and reaching.
Ability to operate laundry machinery safely.
