What are the responsibilities and job description for the Central Sterile Tech (Evening Shift) position at Springhill Medical Center?
Hours Per Week: 80
This is a Full-Time position with a 3:00pm-11:00pm shift. Rotating days and weekends.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
- We are a drug free facility. Passing a pre-employment drug screening is required .
Education Requirements:
- Two yrs. of college/certification in Central Sterile.
- Five years of experience in hospital Central sterile.
Responsibilities:
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must have amazing customer service
- Must be great team member
- Cleans and sterilizes all surgical instruments according to the standard AAMI processing guidelines
- Cleans/decontaminates surgical instruments
- Identifies and assembles multiple types of surgical instruments and instrument sets
- Receives and process contaminated equipment, trays, instruments and carts from appropriate area
- Inspects all instruments for cleanliness and condition, removing defective instruments.
- Operates sterilizers, washers and other processing equipment in accordance with department policy
- Maintaining accurate and detailed sterilization records
- Demonstrates knowledge of medical and product terminology having a complete knowledge of sterilization methods, requirements and responsibilities
- Has knowledge of and observes all infection control policy and procedures at all times
