Springfield Utility Board is recruiting for an IT Support Technician

DIVISION: Management Information Services

REPORTS TO: Director of Finance and Information Services

STATUS/HOURS: Exempt / Non-Union / Full Time / M - F / 8:00 – 5:00

SALARY: $7,118.80/month - $8,325.20/month (position will start at $7,118.80/month)

Typical Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

  • Three (3) years of progressively responsible IT support experience in a professional environment, including supporting end-user computing devices, peripheral equipment, and IT systems administration.
  • Experience providing first-level IT support or help desk services, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and user access issues.
  • Experience with help desk ticketing systems (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow, Zendesk), IT asset management systems, or endpoint security administration preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, implement standard fixes, and participate in small to medium IT projects (e.g., equipment upgrades, software rollouts).
  • Experience documenting, tracking, and resolving IT incidents, including conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions preferred.

Education/Licenses/Certifications

  • Associate degree in Computer Network Operations, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Coursework, certificate, or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
  • CompTIA IT Fundamentals (ITF ), CompTIA A , or similar certifications preferred.
  • Additional certifications in system administration, security such as CompTIA Security , or project management are preferred.

Springfield Utility Board is an independently operated municipal electric and water utility governed by a locally-elected board. Serving 25 square miles in and around the City of Springfield, Oregon (pop. 55,000), the utility offers its customers some of the lowest water and electric rates in the Pacific Northwest. SUB is a customer-owned community resource. Like other customer-owned utilities, SUB has a three-pronged mission: to provide excellent customer service, to keep rates low and affordable, and to support the community it serves.
