Qualifications:
Active PA Art K-12 certification is required.
Bachelor's and/or Master's in Education is required.
Experience in 3D Art preferred (ceramics and/or glass work)
Description:
The School District of Springfield Township is seeking candidates who possess excellent interpersonal skills, the desire to work with energetic students, and the ability to relate well within the school community. The School District of Springfield Township Visual Arts program is dedicated to offering inclusive, equitable, and accessible K-12 Art programming to all of its students through a Culturally Responsive pedagogy that is grounded in the National Visual Arts Standards. We foster in our students art appreciation, skill building and craftsmanship through experiences in a variety of disciplines including 2 dimensional, 3 dimensional, and digital arts while investigating and exploring diverse historical and contemporary references from across the globe. We help our students develop complex concepts and ideas through personal visual expressions as individual artists, and within their communities through exhibitions, public art installations, as well as connections to future career opportunities in the arts.
Current Opportunity:
We have an opening on our High School team working with students in grades 9-12. Our art department strives to provide rich and varied creative experiences to all learners in our district. The courses available in this role could include, but are not limited to, Art I and Ceramics I & 2 in addition to other deparmental offerings (Introduction to Art I/II).
The successful candidate will add to our building and district team working to increase and expand our application of our visual arts vision. Terms of employment:
Full-time, Long Term Substitute position to be determined in accordance with the terms and conditions of the collective bargaining agreement. Position to begin August 25, 2025 through the end of the 2025-2026 school year.
