STAFF ASSISTANT, PART TIME Job Description: The Student Affairs
Assistant (part-time) reports to the Executive Assistant of Student
Affairs. This position provides clerical support and is responsible for
office tasks, customer service functions and record management. The
Student Affairs Assistant (part-time) must exercise a high-level of
confidentiality in all communication; be able to work with minimum
supervision; demonstrate 100% time-on-task; and adhere to college and
routine office procedures. Job responsibilities include, but are not
limited to: Provide clerical support general office duties; word
processing; filing; preparing mailings and correspondence; email and
telephone communication; creating purchase requisitions; preparing
personnel employment requisitions; processing invoices for payment;
overseeing room reservations; scheduling appointments; assisting with
the medical re-entry process, and sending out appointment
reminders/confirmation emails. Provide quality customer service. Greet
visitors, respond to inquiries, answer phones, and correspond via email
and phone. Provide clerical support for advising during high demand and
peak enrollment periods (i.e. add/drop, priority registration, etc.) and
for select enrollment management events. Support the processing of
student absence reports, four-year college transfer request forms and
medical re-entry cases. Prepare monthly acknowledgements, including
cards and flyers for division staff. Assist with the maintenance of
pro-cards including reviewing charges and statements; maintaining
receipts; and documenting/tracking purchases in related spreadsheets.
Perform special projects and related responsibilities as initiated and
requested. Contribute to a work environment that encourages and promotes
diversity and inclusion. Participate in college, division, department
meetings, events and training as recommended and approved by the
supervisor. Participate in professional development opportunities,
college committees, work groups and task forces, and other professional
organizations, as approved by supervisor. Performs other duties and
responsibilities related to those listed above which do not alter the
basic level of the position. Requirements: Associate Degree in Business
Administration or Office Administration preferred. 3-5 years of
experience in an office setting. Excellent written and verbal
Communication Skills. Experience Using And Comfort With Technology
including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Gmail. Possess the ability
to learn other software as needed. Demonstrated commitment to providing
excellent customer service. Must be team-oriented with a keen attention
to detail. Ability to work in a diverse environment and be perceptive
and understanding to student concerns. Additional Information: Salary:
\$18.00 per hour, 18.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Hours
