What are the responsibilities and job description for the Child Development Assistant / Associate - Wilcox Elementary position at Springfield School District 186?
DAYS PER YEAR: 203 (includes 13 paid holidays)
HOURS PER DAY: 5 (6 HOURS ON WEDNESDAYS)
(May consider part-time candidate if full-time position cannot be filled)
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Highly interested in school-age children.
- Warm, positive attitude and an ability to relate with children and adults.
- Willingness to fulfill the program goals.
- Prefer Degree in Child Care, teaching or related area of study.
- Take any required online training classes (Gateways).
- Become CPR and First Aid certified (Project SCOPE will provide the class).
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to work a split shift.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collect fees from parents and maintain all bookkeeping records.
- Assist in overseeing the Project SCOPE program in an elementary school in cooperation with the Project SCOPE office and the principal of the assigned school.
- Meet the needs of the individual child and treat each child with dignity and respect.
- Establish a positive liaison with parents and children.
- Assume an equal share of housekeeping responsibilities with the staff.
- Attend staff meetings and participate in training programs.
- Support school’s rules and staff members.
- Other duties as assigned by the Coordinator or Assistant Coordinator.
SALARY:
Assistant: $16.98 per hour (25-26) Without 60 college credit hours
Associate: $17.75 per hour (25-26) With 60 college credit hours
