Material Handling Supervisor

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Supervise and coordinate the activities of material handlers, ensuring that they adhere to established safety procedures and guidelines.

· Oversee the receiving, storing, and organizing of materials, equipment, and supplies to ensure efficient workflow and space utilization.

· Collaborate with procurement and purchasing teams to ensure that all materials are ordered and delivered on time, and in accordance with quality standards.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as production, logistics, and quality control, to ensure smooth material flow and timely delivery to meet production schedules.

· Identify areas for process improvement and implement initiatives to streamline material handling operations, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.

· Maintain accurate records and documentation related to material handling activities, including receiving reports, inventory counts, and material movement records.

· Familiarity with ERP and Shipping and Receiving systems.

· Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities and demands.

· Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze data and metrics to identify areas for improvement.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· Proven experience in material handling or inventory management, with at least 3-5 years of supervisory experience.

· Certification in material handling equipment operation, such as forklift certification, is highly desirable.

· Knowledge of regulatory requirements, such as Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines, related to material handling and storage.

· Proficiency in using computer systems and software.

· Strong physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and operate material handling equipment.

· Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.

· Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate and collaborate with internal teams.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
