Role Description
Springfield Local Schools is seeking a full-time Middle School Physical Education and Health Teacher for an on-site role located in Holland, OH. The teacher will be responsible for designing and implementing physical education and health curricula for middle school students. Responsibilities include leading physical activities, appropriate student supervision, promoting healthy lifestyle choices, and assessing student progress. Additional responsibilities include fostering a positive environment that helps students learn subject matter and skills, which will lead toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional, and psychological growth
Qualifications:
- Valid and appropriate teaching certificate/license from the State of Ohio for Multi Age Physical Education P-12 and Health prefered.
- Recent teaching experience in a physical education classroom preferred.
- Record of good attendance and strong work ethic.
- Evidence of good moral character as established in section 3301-20-01 of the Ohio Administrative Code.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- Ability to use technology for data collection and student database.
- Willingness to work with students, staff and community members.
- Prior related work experience required and above average evaluations.
- Willingness to participate in future training.
- Willingness to follow assigned work schedule.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and precautions for work environment.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with students, parents, teachers, counselors, and administrators.
- Knowledge of how to integrate technology into the curriculum.
- Willingness to meet the needs of all students (e.g. at-risk, high achieving, special education).
- Willingness to work in school sponsored and school related activities.
- Experience working with a culturally diverse student population preferred.
