What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mandarin Chinese Teacher position at Springfield Genius Academy?
Springfield Genius Academy is seeking a qualified Lead Mandarin Teacher who is fluent in both Chinese and English to join our team! This position works with children ages 4–7 years old.
As a Lead Mandarin Teacher, you will be responsible for:
- Managing your classroom and guiding Assistant Teachers
- Ensuring the safety, care, and well-being of all children
- Creating engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans and activities

Qualifications
- Must have either a BA in education or a related field or a valid CDA
- Must have a minimum of 2 years working in a child care or educational setting preferably as a Lead Teacher
- Must be fluent in both Mandarin Chinese and English languages
- MUST be able to start work immediately
- Must have or be willing to obtain Infant/Child First Aid and CPR Training
- Must be available to work full-time hours Monday-Friday
- Must be willing to maintain training hours required every year of employment and participate in school training sessions/meetings.
Responsibilities (included, but not limited to)
- Develop and implement a creative lesson plan on a weekly basis that is suitable for children and in the Mandarin Chinese language
- Demonstrate a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, music and movement, etc.) to teach children
- Manage diaper and bathroom schedules for each child's needs
- Observe each child to help them grow and improve their social and emotional awareness, as well as their help build and support their motor skills.
- Organize nap, lunch, and snack hours and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times
- Track children’s progress and report to parents via our online parent communication portal; ProCare Solutions
- Communicate with parents regularly to understand the children’s background and needs
- Collaborate with other team members and be open to support and guidance
- Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
Skills
- Proven experience as a Lead Mandarin Teacher in a child care or educational setting
- Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
- Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms, as well as state licensing guidelines
- Excellent communication and instructional skills
- Ability to act as a mentor for other teachers and staff
- Friendly and reliable
- Understand the day-to-day changes that take place in a childcare setting
- Feel comfortable and relaxed in a fast paced environment and not become overwhelmed easily

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
