Position Overview
Springfield Creamery is seeking a highly organized and detail-driven Purchasing and Inventory Specialist to join our team. This on-site position is crucial to maintaining our production flow, ensuring reliable inventory management, and supporting purchasing operations within a fast-paced, collaborative setting. You will partner with multiple departments and be relied upon to resolve discrepancies efficiently and accurately.
Key Responsibilities
- Enter production data daily with precision and consistency, maintaining accuracy at all times.
- Forecast inventory requirements to guarantee stable stock levels and to prevent both shortages and excess inventory.
- Submit purchase orders to suppliers, track deliveries, and follow up promptly to ensure timely arrivals.
- Receive incoming products, verify shipments against purchase orders, and record any variances.
- Review supplier invoices for accuracy and professionally address any discrepancies with vendors.
- Reconcile physical inventory counts across multiple inventory management systems, ensuring alignment and consistency.
- Identify, research, and resolve inventory discrepancies in a calm and methodical manner, collaborating with relevant departments as needed.
- Maintain thorough and well-organized records of all purchasing, receiving, and inventory activities.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with production, warehouse, and finance teams to promote seamless operations.
- Assisting during all QA audits.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in purchasing, inventory management, or related roles, with experience in food manufacturing considered an asset.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities within a demanding, fast-paced environment.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping.
- High proficiency with inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve discrepancies independently and collaboratively.
- Strong, steady, and professional interpersonal communication skills with a team-focused attitude.
- Consistent reliability; must be highly dependable and trusted to meet deadlines and follow through on commitments.
- Ability to work on-site and interact constructively with colleagues from multiple departments.
- Experience working with scanner gun system preferred but not required.
