What are the responsibilities and job description for the Middle School Track Coach position at Springfield City Schools?
Who We Are:
The Springfield City School District, home to The John Legend Theatre, is seeking Middle School Track Coach/Advisor for the 2025-26 school year Spring Season. We are a nationally ranked Division I District serving approximately 7,500 Pre-K through grade 12 students, in a vibrant learning community of 17 state of the art buildings in west-central Ohio. The Springfield City School District values the racial, ethnic and socioeconomic diversity of our student body, faculty and staff. Our academic and extracurricular aim is to ensure social and emotional learning growth for students with a wealth of opportunity, including a 1:1 initiative and the YouMedia Center, which is a digital learning lab offering students activities such as 3-D printing, graphic design, and videography. As a Coach you are required to:
- Completion of Coaches Tool Chest certification
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain a Pupil Activity Permit as issued by the Ohio Department of Education
As a Coach you will demonstrate the following:
- Being a role model and mentor to student athletes
- Ability to build strong communication links between students, parents and the community
- Ability to build strong connections with collegiate level contacts both in academics and recruiting
- Action plans to create a disciplined team, both with coaches and student athletes
As a Middle School Track Coach, the stipend is $2,128.00
All "Requirements for Coach/Advisor" must be met on or before the first practice date and throughout the entire season of sport to be performed.
