Who We Are:
The Springfield City School District, home to The John Legend Theatre, is seeking a Intervention Specialist at Snyder Park Elementary School for the 2026-2027 school year. We are a nationally ranked Division I District serving approximately 7,500 Pre-K through grade 12 students, in a vibrant learning community of 17 state of the art buildings in west-central Ohio. As a Intervention Specialist you are required to:
- Possesses or have applied for an Intervention Specialist license or have the ability to obtain a supplemental license as an Intervention Specialist issued by the Ohio Department of Education.
- Ability to lead professional development of school-wide restorative practices
- Be flexible in your work schedule and be willing to attend/participate in professional development sessions
- Be willing to serve on teams
- Have the ability to relate to and teach students with diverse backgrounds
- Demonstrate enthusiasm in your role
As a Intervention Specialist you will:
- The ability to effectively differentiate instruction
- Accurately analyze data to plan instruction that is aligned to the common core State Standards
- Be able to effectively manage and instruct whole and small groups
- Have experience with writing standards-based IEPs
- Use research based pedagogy with excellent background knowledge of all content standards
- Developing lesson plans and instructional materials and providing individualized and small group instruction to meet the needs of each student.
- Actively engaging at-risk students in the learning process; planning and using appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students.
- Recognizing the needs of individual students and the entire group and offering support and flexibility as needed.
- Working as part of a cooperative and diverse team of educators and administrators to carry out the goals of our District.
- Utilizing technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.
- Participating in professional development activities that are aligned with district and building goals, assigned subject content and the varied needs of students.
What We Offer:
As a contracted employee, Intervention Specialist work 183 days per year and 7.25 hours per day.
Starting salary is $44,692.00 with increases for additional education and experience.
