Design Assist Specialist

The Design Assist Specialist plays an important role in that work. This position is a strong fit for someone with an interest in interior design, technical sales, customer support, and the construction process. You do not need to be an architect or engineer, but you should enjoy helping people clarify what they need, understand what is possible, and move projects forward.

Architects and designers often need support when specifying a custom wood ceiling. Acoustical subcontractors also need clear pricing, installation, and technical guidance. In this role, you will support both groups, working closely with our sales, estimating, engineering, customer service, and project management teams.
We are building a stronger position in our niche market through what we call Custom Made Fast. "Custom" means designers can choose from millions of possible configurations. "Fast" means we provide reliable quoting, drafting, and fabrication support so projects can move with greater confidence and less friction.

In Practice, This Means You Will
- Facilitate discovery and requirements meetings to understand customer needs and determine whether the project fits within 9Wood's standards and capabilities.
- Work with estimating, engineering, and customer service teams to help design and quote the specified solution.
- Provide clear and complete handoffs to project management, then help customers and distributor representatives set realistic expectations.
- Interest in interior design, architecture, technical sales, or construction
- Ability to communicate clearly, warmly, and professionally with customers and internal teams
- Practical judgment about what work we can and should accept
- Negotiation and communication skills to respectfully redirect or decline work that does not fit
- General understanding of the commercial construction industry and its challenges
- Direct or related exposure to the architecture and design industry preferred
- Experience working in a CRM preferred
