What are the responsibilities and job description for the Minister of Music position at Springdale Baptist Church?
Springdale Baptist Church is seeking a gifted Minister of Music to lead our Music Ministry. The Minister of Music will be responsible for developing and directing our music ministry, by selecting music, leading rehearsals, coordinating with musicians and flexibility to work with the Pastor. We are looking for someone with practical experience in planning worship and in participating and leading worship services. The successful Minister of Music should have a heart for those participating in worship services, the flexibility to work with all groups, and strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Responsibilities
• Select and present music which brings glory to God, is spiritually correct, and ministers to the congregation.
• Provide spiritual leadership and professional supervision to all musical staff.
• Schedule and arrive at rehearsals, services in enough time to prepare and be ready when either session begins.
• Learn, teach, and fully execute all music (assigned or recommended) and assist in the creativity of musical song arrangements.
• Provide inspirational instruction and leadership for the Music Ministry and aid to other servants who are developing vocal leadership skills.
• Evaluate strengths and weaknesses and be responsible for improvement and professional growth of musical staff and ministry.
• Assist audio/video ministry to achieve desired levels/quality of sound and video.
• Embrace and execute both traditional and contemporary gospel for all choirs.
• Embrace the opportunity to lead in congregational singing as needed, provide vocal guidance, and teach voice part(s).
• Effective communicator with great organizational skills and an ability to multi-task.
• Responsible for having the music ministry prepared to accompany the Pastor at outside services.

Qualifications
- Degree or formal training in music, music education, sacred music, or theology is preferred but not required OR Experience in church music ministry
