What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Worker 1 - Maintenance Community Homes position at Springbrook?
Position Summary:
Provides technical expertise and manual skill in the inspection, servicing, and repair of the buildings, grounds, equipment, and furnishings.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs basic routine building repair and maintenance, including but not limited to: drywall, painting, plumbing, and light carpentry.
Documents project status and completions.
Responds to emergency situations for evening and weekend call-outs.
Provides reasonable care and maintenance and assumes accountability for assigned, issued and/or checked-out tools, equipment and/or vehicles.
Performs all activities in accordance with the latest job safety practices.
Maintain work areas, equipment and tools in proper order and with care.
Adhere to agency policies and procedures
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
High school or GED required. Graduation from an accredited technical/vocational program or school preferred.
Three (3) years’ experience in maintenance and/or construction.
Working knowledge of methods, materials, tools and practices used in plumbing, carpentry and electrical trades.
Knowledge of standard practices, processes and material involved in trades related to building maintenance.
Ability to quickly troubleshoot maintenance issues.
Knowledge of plumbing and HVAC/electrical systems, boilers, and power generators.
Strong judgment and reasoning abilities.
Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with employees, customers, vendors and tenants.
Ability to work extended hours and be on-call, as needed.
Proficiency in or knowledge of using a variety of computer software and e-mail applications, especially Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word; have the aptitude to learn other computer software as necessary.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds in a safe manner.
Meet the requirements to drive Springbrook vehicles as required.
