Grounds Worker - Maintenance Community Homes

Position Summary

Provides expertise and manual skill in the areas of land maintenance, vegetation growth control, and landscaping specialties.

Principle Duties And Responsibilities

• Perform routine landscape maintenance, including but not limited to: mowing, trimming, pruning, soil preparation, planting, mulching, and leaf removal.
• Perform all phases of snow removal, including but not limited to: plowing, salting, shoveling, and roof clearing.
• Operate land clearing and earth moving equipment as needed.
• Maintain work areas, equipment, and tools.
• Assume accountability for agency equipment and provide reasonable care and usage.
• Perform all activities in accordance with the latest safety practices.
• Respond to emergency situations/ call outs as required.
• Adhere to Agency Policies and Procedures.
• All other duties as assigned.
  
  

Qualifications, Skills And Knowledge Requirements

• High school or GED required. Graduation from an accredited technical/vocational program or school preferred.
• Three (3) years’ experience in grounds maintenance and/or construction.
• Working knowledge of equipment and methods for lawn care.
• Working knowledge of equipment and methods for snow removal.
• Ability to meet goals.
• Ability to communicate and work within a team.
• Ability to work extended hours or respond to on call situations as needed.
• Basic proficiency in computer software and email applications.
• Meet the requirements to drive a Springbrook vehicle.
• The ability to lift 50 pounds in a safe manner
