Role Description The Employment Specialist is a full-time, hybrid role based in Binghamton, NY, with some work-from-home flexibility. This role supports individuals with special needs in obtaining and maintaining meaningful employment by providing job readiness training, coaching, and ongoing support. Daily responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing individualized employment plans, coordinating job placements with community employers, and advocating for workplace accommodations when needed. The Employment Specialist also provides on-the-job training, monitors progress, and collaborates with families, service providers, and internal teams to ensure successful outcomes. Administrative tasks such as documentation, reporting, and participation in team meetings are integral to the role.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Communication and Customer Service skills to build relationships with individuals, employers, and team members.
- Candidates should possess Interviewing and Recruiting skills to identify suitable job opportunities and match individuals with appropriate roles.
- Candidates should possess Training skills to deliver job readiness instruction and on-the-job coaching effectively.
- Relevant experience in vocational services, human services, social work, or related fields is beneficial.
