Where You Fit:
Springbrook is currently seeking a revenue accounting manager to lead our technical revenue recognition. As a successful candidate, you will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate recording and reporting of revenue. Having a strong technical background in ASC 606, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely recording, analysis, and reporting of revenue-related transactions. This position requires a detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive individual who can lead a team and collaborate with cross-functional departments to optimize our revenue recognition processes.
Responsibilities:
- Review and assess revenue contracts to determine proper recognition and revenue allocation
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., ASC 606) and company policies in recognizing revenue
- Develop, establish, and maintain month-end close procedures and best practices that will effectively scale as Springbrook grows
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue reports for stakeholders
- Conduct in-depth analysis of revenue data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement
- Work closely with Deal Desk, Sales, and Legal to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Manage revenue-related month-end close procedures, including deferred revenue schedules
- Work on revenue-related projects such as SSP analyses
- Assist with financial statement audits and periodic tax PBCs
- Work with Accounts Receivable and Collections and provide guidance to those teams
- Maintain overview of AR aging and manage the process related to approving credits
- Support ad-hoc accounting projects and analysis as required, including design of accounting operational processes, business processes, automation activities, data analysis and management reporting
- Assist in M&A activity related to revenue recognition
- Maintain general awareness of Springbrook security and privacy policies
- Report any security incident or suspected security incident to the Springbrook Incident Response Team
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting
- 7 years of experience in the SaaS industry with accounting and financial reporting preferably working with government contracts
- Strong technical expertise in ASC 606 and software revenue recognition and experience dealing with complex revenue arrangements
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a supervisory role managing team
- Operational accounting experience
- Advanced Excel skills
- Ability to handle multiple competing priorities
- High attention to detail
- Exceptional analytical and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Public accounting experience
- Licensed CPA
- Sage Intacct and Salesforce.com proficiency
