CLINIC NURSE
Clearcreek Elementary (second semester start)
SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Building Principal in cooperation, the Clinic Nurse conducts and coordinates school health services and
programs; provides care for ill and injured students and staff; takes part in IEP's and team meetings; keeps health records as required
and assists with the implementation of school health services which will enhance the educational environment for students and staff
in the Springboro Community Schools.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Conducts school health screenings as required.
2. Maintains up-to-date cumulative health records on all students and staff.
3. Administers first aid in accordance with current accepted first aid procedures.
4. Advises on modification of the educational program to meet health needs of individual students.
5. Assists the district nurse in preparation of reports for the district, state and other agencies.
6. Cooperates with the Warren County Board of Health in the control and prevention of communicable diseases.
7. Administers medications and performs medical procedures ordered by a licensed medical professional according to currently
accepted practices to students who have needs during the school day that cannot be met before or after school.
8. Maintains required certificates.
9. Refers students, families, and school personnel to appropriate community agencies for medical, social and mental health
treatment or help.
10. Assists and provides input needed to update school policies related to health and safety.
11. Maintains confidentiality of all health records of students and school personnel.
12. Supervises the unlicensed personnel assigned to help students during the school day with health related problems that interfere
with learning.
13. Maintains appropriate records of medications and treatments given.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. RN License.
2. BSN preferred.
3. CPR and First Aid Certification.
4. Valid Ohio driver's license.
5. Must pass criminal background check.
6. School experience or related experience preferred.
7. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
• Effective: 2026/2027 School Year (Feb 2027 approx start)
• Terms of Employment: One-year probationary period
• Salary and Fringe Benefits: According to negotiated contract ($25.12/hr Associates or $26.29 Bachelor's)
• Hours: 8 hours per day/ 193 day contract
