Family Law Associate Attorney - Kennebunk, ME or Brunswick, ME

Springborn Staffing is partnering with an established and highly respected Maine law firm that is seeking a Family Law Associate Attorney to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who enjoys courtroom advocacy, client counseling, strategic negotiation, and handling complex family law cases from start to finish.

The firm offers a collaborative and supportive culture where attorneys are encouraged to grow professionally while making a meaningful impact on clients navigating some of life's most challenging transitions. This role is an in-office position and can be based in either Kennebunk OR Brunswick, ME.

What You'll Do

• Manage a caseload of family law cases, including divorce, parental rights and responsibilities, support, and property division matters.
• Advise and represent clients throughout all stages of a case, from initial consultation and strategy through negotiation, hearing, settlement, or trial.
• Conduct legal research, discovery, motion practice, and case preparation.
• Draft pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, memoranda, and other legal documents.
• Negotiate effectively with opposing counsel while preparing cases for litigation when necessary.
• Appear in court for conferences, hearings, contested proceedings, and trials.
• Build strong client relationships through compassionate, responsive communication.
• Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff in a team-oriented environment.
• Manage deadlines, case strategy, documentation, and client expectations with a high degree of professional responsibility.

Qualifications

• Active membership in good standing with the Maine Bar.
• Prior family law experience preferred.
• Strong courtroom, negotiation, and client advocacy skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Genuine interest in building a long-term family law practice.
• Client-centered approach demonstrated through compassion, clear communication, and professionalism.

Experience Levels Considered

Associate Attorney - Level I: Approximately 1-2 years of family law experience.

Associate Attorney - Level II: Approximately 3-5 years of family law experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Courtroom, contested-hearing, or trial experience.
• Admission to the U.S. District Court for the District of Maine.

Compensation

Associate Attorney - Level 1: $90,000 - $120,000

Associate Attorney - Level 2: $120,000 - $150,000

Final salary depends on experience, litigation background, demonstrated independence, and overall qualifications.
