Position Summary
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing the full purchasing process, from vendor management to pricing analysis and performance reporting. This role ensures timely procurement of materials and services in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 standards, while maintaining cost control, compliance, and strong supplier relationships.

This role is essential in supporting Springboard Manufacturing’s operational, quality, and financial objectives.
Essential Job Functions
Procurement Operations, Vendor Management & Inventory Support
- Manage all material, component, packaging, and MRO purchases in alignment with production and customer needs.
- Maintain and update the Approved Vendor List in compliance with ISO 9001:2015.
- Establish, evaluate, and sustain strong vendor relationships to ensure quality, cost, and delivery standards.
- Purchase items according to agreed stocking levels and obtain required approvals for higher-value orders.
- Maintain accurate and timely purchase order entry and documentation within the ERP system.
- Review and validate inventory-related data in the ERP system, including safety stocks, lead times, and reorder points.
- Support and participate in physical inventory counts and cycle counts; assisting in resolving count discrepancies and identifying root causes.
- Support new vendor onboarding and ensure all purchasing activities meet company and financial controls.
Pricing, Quotations & Financial Oversight
- Obtain and manage supplier quotes for new and existing business opportunities.
- Update and maintain ERP pricing, MOQs, and price breaks to ensure current and accurate data.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to optimize cost efficiency and supplier performance.
- Manage credit card purchases, approvals, and reconciliation with accounting.
- Monitor market conditions and identify opportunities for cost savings and vendor consolidation.
Reporting, Analysis & Continuous Improvement
- Generate and report monthly KPIs for purchasing performance, spend analysis, and supplier delivery metrics.
- Support cross-departmental initiatives to improve procurement efficiency and accuracy.
- Use KPI data to identify improvement opportunities and lead related projects.
- Present key metrics and findings to management to support strategic decision-making.
- Demonstrate a proactive, solution-oriented approach to challenges and continuous improvement activities.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Competencies
- 5-8 years of procurement or supply-chain experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate pricing, terms, and vender performance.
- Strong communication skills with a natural ability to build trust, maintain approachability, and provide excellent internal customer service.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 purchasing requirements and documentation standards.
- Strong analytical and financial acumen for cost management and reporting.
Preferred Skills and Competencies
- Experience in injection molding, plastics, or medical-device manufacturing.
- Familiarity with ISO 13485 or regulated quality management systems.
- Experience with supplier audits, KPI programs, and cost-improvement initiatives.
- Vendor negotiation experience, including managing persistent supplier representatives.
Work Environment / Physical Requirements
- Primarily office-based with periodic interaction in manufacturing and warehouse environments.
- Prolonged sitting with occasional walking, bending, and reaching.
- Exposure to a typical production environment with moderate noise and temperature variation.
- Able to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 20 pounds.
Salary : $80,000 - $100,000
