Primary Mission
The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing ingredients and assisting with basic kitchen tasks to support the kitchen team. This role ensures all prep work is completed in a timely, organized, and sanitary manner to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
SCOPE OF WORK TEAM
- Reports to Sous Chef/Director of Food & Beverage
- Supports food & beverage operational needs for the property
- Wash, peel, and cut fruits, vegetables, and other ingredients according to specifications.
- Measure and assemble ingredients for menu items.
- Label, date, and store prepped food items according to hotel procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area.
- Assist with receiving, organizing, and storing deliveries.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and hygiene procedures at all times.
- Assist cooks and chefs with additional tasks as needed.
- Dispose of waste and maintain cleanliness in prep areas.
- Prior Experience:
- Previous kitchen or prep experience preferred but not required.
- IT Expertise:
- Knowledge of computer software (including Microsoft Office, outlook) and web analytics tools is preferred.
- Education:
- High School education or equivalent.
- Subject Expertise:
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Must be able to follow directions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
- Must be a team player with the ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
- Must be able to exercise confidentiality and discretion.
- Report any unusual occurrences and/or request to Supervisor.

- Demonstrate a working knowledge of all company safety and security procedures.
