Maintenance Assistant/Common Area Housekeeper

Position Summary: The maintenance team member is responsible for performing maintenance and common area housekeeping duties in the community and around the community grounds as assigned. Responsible for assisting with maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for the residents, guests, and team members.

· On year maintenance and/or housekeeping experience preferred

· Technical school education preferred

· Demonstrates general understanding of systems such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and code compliance

· Possess a general understanding of OSHA, fire prevention, and life and safety regulations

· Ability to respond to emergency calls outside of normal working hours

· Able to handle multiple priorities

· Possess written and verbal skills for effective communication

· Demonstrate good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

· Ability to work semi-independently without direct supervision; following all community procedures and guidelines and having the ability to follow-through on assigned tasks

Essential Duties:

· Complete all maintenance tasks as assigned by Maintenance Coordinator

· Assist with painting and refurbishing projects

· Perform minor building and equipment repairs

· Maintain all tools and repair parts needed to perform job duties

· Participates in fire drills and in all emergency preparedness measures

· Assist in working with heating and air conditioning systems, domestic water systems, refrigeration systems, motors, fans, and emergency generators

· Perform routine preventative maintenance as directed by Maintenance Coordinator and safety regulations

· Perform carpet and hard surface floor repairs and maintenance

· Assist with getting rooms ready and presentable for tours and resident move-ins

· Assist with housekeeping duties in common areas as needed

· Comply with all infection control techniques and placement of bio-hazard containers and removal techniques

· Communicate with supervisor the inventory of equipment and products

· Maintain equipment and supplies to avoid waste, damage to areas and equipment, and to prevent accidents

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
