Spring Valley Lake Association (SVLA) maintains multiple high-use community facilities, including restrooms, community buildings, parks, beaches, the marina, the Equestrian Center, and administrative offices. Our Janitorial Maintenance team plays a crucial role in keeping these areas clean, sanitary, and welcoming for residents, guests, and event users.
Position Summary
The Part-Time Janitorial Maintenance Technician is responsible for daily cleaning, sanitation, restocking, and general upkeep of SVLA’s facilities. This position is heavily focused on janitorial duties, restroom care, trash removal, and maintaining the cleanliness and safety of community spaces—especially during high-traffic weekends.
This is a hands-on, fast-paced position that requires attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work independently.
Primary Responsibilities
Daily Cleaning & Sanitation
- Clean and sanitize restrooms across multiple SVLA locations (Marina, West Beach, Meadowlark Park, Barn, Community Center, Fishing Areas, etc.).
- Sweep, mop, and disinfect floors in restrooms, offices, meeting rooms, and common areas.
- Restock soap, paper products, trash liners, and other supplies.
- Clean mirrors, fixtures, countertops, appliances, sinks, and drinking fountains, deep cleaning
Trash & Outdoor Facility Care
- Empty trash and recycling receptacles throughout parks, beaches, fishing areas, marina docks, and building exteriors.
- Replace liners, clean bins, and maintain overall cleanliness of high-traffic outdoor areas.
- Sweep exterior entryways, patios, walkways, and seating areas.
Building & Facility Upkeep
- Wipe down tables, counters, furniture, and high-touch surfaces.
- Clean windows, glass doors, and interior/exterior surfaces as assigned.
- Assist with monthly and quarterly deep-cleaning tasks such as floor scrubbing, pressure washing restrooms, and cleaning light fixtures.
- Support event setup, teardown, and post-event cleanup.
Additional Duties
- Perform minor maintenance tasks such as tightening hardware, replacing dispensers, or reporting damages.
- Conduct daily inspections of assigned areas and report issues such as vandalism, leaks, or safety hazards.
- Safely operate Association vehicles/UTVs and transport cleaning materials and equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Valid California driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Experience in janitorial, custodial, or facility cleaning required.
- Ability to lift 40–50 lbs and perform continuous physical work (bending, lifting, walking).
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to follow cleaning standards, SOPs, and safety procedures.
- Must pass pre-employment screening.
Preferred Skills
- Experience cleaning public restrooms or multi-site facilities.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper PPE use, and safe sanitation practices.
- Good communication and customer-service skills when interacting with residents.
- Strong time-management skills and the ability to work independently.
- Basic knowledge of maintenance cleaning procedures and chemical use.
