Role Overview
We are seeking a versatile Technical Operations Specialist to join our team during a major AI‑centric modernization initiative. This role is designed to bridge the gap between internal infrastructure and the development organization.
You will serve as the primary technical operator and problem solver for our environment—owning day‑to‑day systems, infrastructure, and operational stability—so senior developers can remain focused on high‑value AI integration and platform modernization. This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role for someone who thrives as a technical generalist and enjoys being the connective tissue between IT operations and development.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure & Systems Administration (The Backbone)
• Manage, maintain, and optimize the company’s AWS environment, including server upgrades and hardware‑related maintenance.
• Administer remote access solutions (RDP) and manage software licensing.
• Oversee internal IT services, including Office 365 administration and employee software provisioning.
Development & Product Support (The Bridge)
• Provide Level 1 coding support and troubleshooting assistance to the core development team.
• Manage API integrations and perform basic backend maintenance.
• Maintain customer ecommerce platforms, including ongoing enhancements, upgrades, and security patches.
Operational Excellence (SRE Mindset)
• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive or manual “keep the lights on” operational tasks.
• Build and document institutional knowledge to support the transition from contractor‑owned systems to internal ownership.
• Provide responsive technical support to internal teams to minimize downtime and operational disruption.
Qualifications & Skills
Required Mindset & Capabilities
• Technical Generalist Mentality: Comfortable wearing many hats, from resolving RDP access issues to diving into basic application code.
• Infrastructure Experience: Hands‑on experience managing AWS environments and administering Windows and/or Linux servers.
• Development Literacy: Working knowledge of APIs and basic coding concepts; experience with or willingness to learn ERP‑related languages is a plus.
• Problem‑Solving Orientation: Approaches issues holistically fixing the immediate problem, documenting the solution, and preventing recurrence.
• Strong Communication Skills: Able to translate complex technical issues into clear, actionable explanations for non‑technical stakeholders.
• Automation: Ability to write basic scripts for data manipulation and process automation (e.g., Python, JavaScript, PowerShell).
Education
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered:
• 3 years in IT, Engineering, or Computer Science OR
• Bachelor’s or Associate degree in a related field
Why Join Us?
This is not a traditional or stagnant IT role. You will be joining the organization at a pivotal moment as we move toward an AI‑centric platform. While owning and stabilizing core operations, you will gain direct exposure to modernization initiatives and work alongside senior architects, providing significant opportunities for skill growth and long‑term impact.
