Position Description

We are seeking a full-time Elementary and Middle School Teacher. The primary job duties will be to deliver instruction, assess students’ learning, provide spiritual guidance, facilitate classroom management, and engage in ongoing professional development activities. Sincere care and concern for students’ well-being and academic progress are of primary importance in order to effectively minister to students in this position. You will be joining a team of excellent educators who are passionate about their subject matter, SOLCA’s mission, and serving students/families.

Salary

While the compensation for this position depends on the candidate’s degree, experience, and qualifications, the approximate wage range is $20 to $30 per hour. Full-time positions are salaried from mid-August to mid-June and divided into 12 monthly installments.

· Paid federal holidays and breaks

· 50% off student tuition for full-time employees, prorated for PT

· Stipend for FT Employees to cover health costs of $150/month, totaling $1,800/year

Job Responsibilities

· Manage and educate students in a nurturing classroom environment

· Deliver engaging and interactive lessons that integrate biblical teachings and character

· development

· Assess student progress through various methods such as assignments, quizzes, tests, and

· projects

· Establish rules and expectations, maintain order, and address behavioral issues

· Maintain cordial relationships with students within appropriate boundaries

· Provide constructive feedback to students and their parents

· Maintain positive relationships with students, parents, peers, and supervisors

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s Degree in Education

· Teacher’s State Certification, preferred, not required

· ACSI Certification is required within three months of employment

· Previous experience in teaching

· Technical skills and computer knowledge

· Ability to build rapport with students and parents

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Dependability and a strong work ethic

· Understand and be able to explain the Christian philosophy or Biblical basis for education
