Shift: M-F & Weekend Rotation
Under the direction of the Maintenance Services Director, the Maintenance Assistant plays a key role in ensuring that the building and grounds are well-maintained, safe, sanitary, and comfortable for residents, visitors, and staff.
Responsibilities:
- Perform general maintenance duties, including light electrical work, carpentry, HVAC, and plumbing repairs
- Maintain the interior and exterior of the building in a neat and clean manner
- Repair drywall and complete painting projects as needed
- Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on appliances, office equipment, and maintenance tools
- Protect and maintain building grounds during inclement weather, including plowing, salting, shoveling snow, and preventing water damage
- Ensure proper storage and handling of supplies, chemicals, tools, and equipment
- Carry a cell phone and be available for on-call responsibilities as needed by the Director of Maintenance or Executive Director
Qualifications:
**HVAC Experience if possible***
- Experience in general handyman work, including knowledge of two or more trades (electrical, carpentry, HVAC, or plumbing)
- Strong organizational skills with a friendly and outgoing personality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be reliable and able to respond to maintenance emergencies as needed
