- Collaborating with staff and clinicians to understand the ways in which activities can promote healing and belonging.
- Conducting needs assessments to ascertain physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities.
- Determining individual interests and expectations regarding leisure time.
- Determining and overseeing the use of available finances.
- Developing an activities program that is both sufficiently diverse and sensitive to our occupants' requirements.
- Purchasing or leasing supplies for all activities.
- Sourcing, training, and monitoring the work of Activities Assistants.
- Advertising events well in advance of their scheduled times.
- Supervising and participating in events alongside staff and occupants.
- Compiling periodic reports that outline successes, constraints, and the way forward
- Arrange transportation. Drive the facility bus to transport residents to and from appointments when necessary.
- Make routine visits to residents and provide assistance with crafts, projects, etc.
- Ensure that all charted life enrichment activity progress notes are informative and descriptive of the services provided and of the resident’s response to the service.
- Developing and maintaining a schedule of life enrichment activities. Assist in scheduling movies, planning parties, and providing games/activities for the residents. Encourage residents to participate in hobbies and crafts.
- Greets all internal and external customers, guests, family members, residents, vendors and team members.
- Strong interpersonal leadership skills, especially when it comes to delivering sensitive information to patients and/or families.
- Valid Drivers License
- Must be alert and attentive to detail.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
- Be able to make independent decisions concerning above job duties.
- Possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family member, visitors, government agencies/personnel, vendors, and the general public.
- Be knowledgeable of activity practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care.
- 8 hour shifts
- Manager on duty weekends
- Rotating Holiday Schedule
