ResponsibilitiesDevelop lesson plans and set high expectations for studentsGiving and grading assignments, homework and testsEstablish and administer classroom rules and standardsTake attendance and document daily notesHelp students prepare for standardized testingOversee students during recess, lunch and other activitiesUpdate and meet with parents about their children’s progressMaintain a clean and sanitary classroomCommunicate with parents regularly through the class newsletter and parent-teacher conferencesHelp plan and lead fall and spring semester field tripsWork with staff to ensure all gaps are filled and school policies are being followed appropriatelyAttend staff meetings and participate in professional developmentWillingness to learn and apply Classical Christian teaching methodologies QualificationsProven work experience as a teacher or similar roleThe ability to communicate in ways students will understand, as well as with parents and administratorsConfidence speaking in front of groups and enforcing classroom rulesThe creativity to create engaging lesson plans and inspire students to learnThe physical and mental stamina to keep up with high-energy grade school studentsMust be detail-oriented and able to follow written and verbal instructions.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Degree in Education; Master’s degree a plusClassical Christian education experience a plusA teaching license is preferred
