Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Collect blood specimens from patients using venipuncture and skin puncture techniques, ensuring proper identification and labeling.
- Prepare and process specimens according to laboratory protocols, maintaining sample integrity throughout the collection process.
- Assist with patient care by explaining procedures, addressing concerns, and providing compassionate service to ensure a positive experience.
- Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature as needed for patient assessment.
- Follow aseptic techniques to prevent contamination and ensure safety during specimen collection.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all procedures performed, including specimen details and patient information.
- Adhere to hospital or clinical laboratory policies regarding infection control, safety protocols, and confidentiality.
- Support laboratory staff with additional tasks related to specimen processing or administrative duties as required.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in laboratory procedures, laboratory techniques, or clinical laboratory experience preferred.
- Certification or training in phlebotomy, with proficiency in venipuncture and blood sampling techniques.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology relevant to specimen collection and patient care.
- Strong understanding of hospital experience standards, including infection control practices such as aseptic technique.
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and provide compassionate care.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Prior experience with specimen collection / processing, vital signs, and handling specimens safely is highly desirable. Pay: $25.00 - $27.20 per hour
