Job responsibilities for the Activities Assistant include, but are not limited to,
- Responsible for implementing and supervising designated programs and activities for the facility, engaging speakers, entertainers, community outreach groups, and serves as liaison between dining services and operations department regarding set-up and clean-up of resident activities.
- Ensures acceptable record keeping practices are established and maintained. *
Successful applicant must have:*
- A sincere interest in working with the elderly population and be able to independently carry out resident programming, as indicated.
- Ability to plan and assume a leadership role at recreational programs.
- Patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be able to handle residents based on whatever maturity level they are currently functioning.
- Ability to read and comprehend memos, reports and variety of instructions in written, oral and diagrammatic or schedule form.
- Must be flexible regarding work schedule and willing to work some evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors and the general public.
- Must function in a confidential manner.
- Must be able to relate information concerning a resident’s condition.
- CNA license is preferred, but not required
