PURPOSE: Assist the Middle/High School teachers with non-instructional support duties within the Learning Commons and Integrated Arts Center.
QUALIFICATIONS
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
- Graduation from high school or the equivalent.
- General office experience.
- Utilize Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Suite, & Google Suite.
- Troubleshoot iPads and Apple devices.
- Online video creation and conferencing.
- Familiarity with various genres and literature materials
GENERAL
- Possess the ability to work cooperatively with others.
- Maturity and ability to deal effectively with students and staff.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently within the limits of assigned responsibilities.
- Understands the importance of and can practice confidentiality.
- Comfortable with following specific rules and regulations as they apply to the discipline procedures of the building.
- Receipt of current, favorable clearances including: Pennsylvania State Criminal History (Act 34), Federal Criminal History (FBI – Fingerprinting - Act 1
- 14), Pennsylvania Child Abuse (Act 151), and Sexual Misconduct and Abuse Disclosures (Act 168).
REPORTABILITY: Reportable to the Building Principal, Assistant Principal, and/or Designee.
EVALUATION: Completed by the Building Principal, Assistant Principal, and/or Designee.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist students in troubleshooting Adobe Creative Suite, iPads, & online learning platforms
- Communicate with technical helpdesk to troubleshoot apps and programs
- Submit tech trouble tickets as needed
- Troubleshoot iPads and create online/practical learning simulations
- Utilize online library management system to manage and track collection and order materials following recommendation from teacher.
- Coordinate e-book transactions in library management
- Check in and check out library materials and create/distribute overdue notices
- Check library materials for damage / repair when possible
- Manage billing for damaged/lost materials
- Create and send bills
- Collect moneys and provide receipts
- Generate monthly deposits
- Re-shelve books and magazines
- Under the direction of the teacher , assist students and teachers:
- Identify and/or gather materials based on subject matter, interest, and/or student reading levels
- Conduct research using print and digital resources
- Assist with the preparation of class materials as requested by teachers
- Assist teachers with cataloging and help maintain electronic catalog database
- Help prepare special and reserve collections
- Conduct inventory and prepare reports for The Learning Commons / Integrated Arts Center
- Assist the teachers in ordering and processing new materials:
- Verify book orders compared to invoices and contact vendors regarding discrepancies
- Process new materials into the Follett System
- Determine appropriate level and categories of new materials
- Perform administrative/clerical tasks such as:
- Copying
- Laminating
- Creating and maintaining calendars and various schedules
- Office and library supply maintenance/ordering
- Maintain patron records including: new student id cards, transferring students, address/room changes
- Perform such other duties as assigned by the Learning Commons teacher/Integrated Arts Center teacher, building principal or his/her designee
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS
- Physical Demands Occasional driving to school district offices, classrooms, and regional offices
- Frequent walking throughout various buildings, including climbing up and down stairs
