Role Summary
This Lab Supervisor position is primarily responsible for the day to day supervision of all Embryology, Andrology and Endocrinology staff and reports directly to the Lab Director. The Lab Supervisor consults and advises other staff groups/members regarding IVF laboratory procedures and outcomes, and human assisted reproductive techniques (ART). The Lab Supervisor works in a collaborative relationship with the IVF Laboratory Director and other team members, as well as with other SPRING Fertility departments as needed. Whilst the primary role is overseeing the management of the lab staff under direction of the Lab Director, they are also required to perform all aspects of Embryology, Andrology/Endocrinology as well.
As this is a supervisory role further insight into running an IVF lab will be required. This includes and is not limited to
- Proficiency Testing of Lab Staff and required compliance bodies.
- Understanding and maintaining compliance with the governing bodies and ensuring the IVF Lab is meeting the correct standards.
- Management of Lab Staff on a daily basis including organizing PTO, training, hiring of new staff and determining start and finish times.
- Lab equipment maintenance and servicing, as well as a thorough understanding of all equipment being used in the lab, including medical gas.
- Provide monthly KPI to lab director for discussion and QA, including laboratory as a whole and for all embryologist and andrologist/lab tech.
- Provide training to new staff member as required and as agreed with laboratory director.

The Lab Supervisor is still an Embryology position and requires the candidate to be proficient and independent in all basic and advanced IVF laboratory procedures.
Education, Licenses, Certifications
- Bachelors in Science in Biological or Chemistry required; degree in reproductive Biology preferred
- Technical Supervisor certification from the American Board of Bioanalysis (ABB) within two years from when eligible.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in embryology field.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
Employment Type
This is a full time exempt onsite position that requires early hours, rotating weekends and holidays.
Compensation
The salary range for this role is $160,000 - $190,000. Salary is based on several factors including job related knowledge and skill set, depth of experience, certifications and/or degrees.
