We’re looking for a dedicated and compassionate Personal Trainer to join our team and work with people living with physical, developmental, or cognitive disabilities. This is more than a training role—it’s an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping people with disabilities build strength, confidence, independence, and overall well-being in a supportive environment.
Duties Include but not limited to:
- Design and deliver customized fitness programs tailored to people with a wide range of abilities and needs
- Provide one-on-one and small group training sessions with a strong focus on safety, inclusion, and encouragement
- Adapt exercises, equipment, and techniques to ensure accessibility and effectiveness
- Track client progress and celebrate milestones, both big and small
- Collaborate with caregivers, families, and (when appropriate) healthcare providers
- Foster a positive, respectful, and motivating training environment
- Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Physical Education or a related field
- A Certified Adaptive Personal Trainer (or must be obtained within 3 months of hiring)
- Experience in personal and group training (at least 3 years)
- Must hold a current personal training certification
- Perform physical activities such as: lifting, pushing and pulling
- Clean Driving Record with 2 years driving experience
- Experience working with people with disabilities is highly preferred
- Demonstrate sound time management and dependability
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Knowledge of adaptive fitness techniques and inclusive training practices
- Background in kinesiology, adaptive physical education, occupational therapy, or related fields
- Experience working with people with developmental disabilities
