POSITION SUMMARY: The Program Coordinator for ECSD Fire Science and EMT programs at Spring Creek, Elko, and Wells High Schools is responsible for implementing and monitoring the High School CTE Programs, which includes supporting industry partners, scheduling trained instructors, and monitoring student performance. This position will be housed at Spring Creek High School, but may require travel to Elko and Wells. The position will be the teacher of record for the Spring Creek High Fire Science program and responsible for coordinating instructors, labs, clinical rotations, equipment and supplies for all three programs. The Program Coordinator will serve as the liaison to the industry partners, including Elko County Fire Protection District and Elko County EMT for program development and support. The Program Coordinator will ensure programs are designed to prepare students for work in alignment with industry credentials. This person reports directly to the school site administrator.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Coordinates and evaluates Fire/EMS Department Cadet Program to ensure compliance with local, state and national standards;
- Prepares course schedules within sufficient time to ensure instructor, resource and training location availability
- Serves as a liaison between ECSD and industry partners to ensure programs of study are followed;
- Monitors program compliance and educator needs for program improvement and enhancement;
- Coordinates with appropriate Fire/EMS Training personnel and outside agencies to ensure program consistency and quality is maintained;
- Collects, analyzes and uses data to develop and implement the program and makes adjustments when needed;
- Monitors and assesses student achievement in class and maintains records and provides students and district with industry recognized credentials earned
- Oversees and monitors program to assist in learning process by ensuring an atmosphere conducive to learning is present at all training activities;
- Works with and supports educators to ensure that the program curricula are followed and troubleshoots concerns with the appropriate stakeholders;
- Communicates priorities as they relate to the specific program area and assists in the development of strategies for continuous improvement;
- Communicates effectively with students, staff, parents, community and industry partners;
- Conducts planning meetings with parties to ensure all responsibilities and the Fire/EMS Training and Leadership Academy’s needs are met;
- Participates in open house orientations, program-specific activities, and other specific events for parents and students;
- Orders equipment, supplies and materials for programs under the guidance and approval of Instructional Supervisor;
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Licenses and Certifications:
- Must possess or be able to acquire a Nevada teaching license issued by the Nevada Department of Education or substitute license.
