The Licensed Vocational Nurse reports to the Director of Nursing and is responsible for providing clinical guidance and training to Medical Assistant staff, working with providers to enhance patient care within the clinic, providing direct patient care, and supporting the implementation of clinical quality improvement plans. The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) will provide comprehensive nursing services to patients, including assessment, teaching, counseling, and prevention services to promote health throughout the community. The LVN works as part of a nursing team and may be required to travel to additional clinic sites to provide support to the clinical team. Occasional participation in community outreach events such as health fairs, health screenings that may be scheduled in evenings or on weekends.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing
- Active and current unencumbered Texas license to practice as an LVN
- Certified Basic Life Support (BLS) or BLS equivalent
- Minimum of one year of nursing experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center or similar setting, preferred
- Multilingual, English/Spanish is required
- Available for all shifts/assignments and, when required, able to work evenings and weekends with the ability to travel to all SBCHC clinics.
